I started photographing people with nothing but plain boring backdrops, and a couple of studio lights.
With nothing in the background to make my photos interesting, I was forced to work with only 2 things: light, and the person in front of me. It was probably the best photography training I’ve ever had.
I’m still shooting plain boring backdrops today. Perhaps others may describe beauty with complicated vocabulary, but I believe it’s best said with simplicity and heart.
